Let's take a closer look at one of the most popular architectural paper ceiling designs - the decorative Wave® ceiling.
If you want to make a lasting impression on your clients, employees or guests, this type of ceiling guarantees you 1000% success and recognition. It will never go unnoticed in your project and, without a shadow of a doubt, will be the most striking feature for everyone!
Let us make it clear that this type of ceiling is recommended for public spaces: shopping halls, offices, sports clubs, swimming pools, cafes, restaurants, hotels, lobbies, galleries... Those places, those important areas in the interior that require accentuation in terms of meaning and design.
We offer a completely new technology in the design of ceiling areas, made of non-woven material with high fire and moisture resistance characteristics, which makes this type of product universal for use in all types of public buildings, including areas with high humidity like swimming pools or spa areas. Each Wave® ceiling is a handmade masterpiece that has no analogues and is never identical in its realization. In other words, by ordering this type of ceiling from us, you can guarantee your customer that their project will be unique and unmatched!
Tired of the lack of variety on the market? Want something completely new, non-trivial? Then the Wave® designer ceiling is your choice!
So what is this type of ceiling? Lamellas in one or a combination of several heights, fixed in a certain order to the existing ceiling, create a complete composition with a unique pattern.
Take our recommendations into account when designing this type of ceiling:
1. If you have the potential for excessive heights in a room - then a Wave® lamellar ceiling can certainly be used in your project. The French-made Drop Paper® material used to produce this type of designer ceiling allows for seamless lamellas of any height and length! This is an unprecedented opportunity to create a high-quality product.
2. Additionally and, not surprisingly, if you have a lack of height in your room, you can also use this type of ceiling. Because even with a height of 150 mm, this ceiling will look magical!
3. You don't have to cover the entire ceiling with Wave® ceiling. You can create a fragment, an area or, most conveniently, a niche.
Niche spaces are simply made for Wave® ceiling! Because in this case, no subsystem elements will be visible to the client or customer. And we have various schemes specifically designed to make them invisible!
4. One of the most frequently asked questions is about lighting ceilings made of architectural paper. There are a lot of nuances here and, of course, you need to choose the right lighting that works specifically with your project.
But there are a few of the most important things you need to consider when designing a designer ceiling. Because the right lighting for the lamellar ceilings is 50% of the success of the whole project!
If you want to make the ceiling light and luminous, floating and weightless, then the entire decorative Wave® ceiling should be illuminated from above with any type of lamp. It is necessary to ensure that a minimum distance from the lighting fixtures to the lamellas is at least 200 mm if we are talking about LED lights of any shape. The key is to study the angle of dispersion of light of your fixture and, to avoid deep shadow zones already on the lamellas, to distribute niche lighting sources on the ceiling so that the light streams from neighbouring lamps do not create black, unlit areas. This is necessary if you need to evenly illuminate a decorative Wave® architectural paper ceiling.
To summarize: lighting the Wave® ceiling is an important step in the overall design. How the ceiling will look in the end depends on how you design its lighting.
5. And lastly, and probably most importantly for the most patient - those who have read to the end. Why is the title of our article "Wave® ceiling - nothing but net"?
Well, that's because the lamellas are mounted using the hands and imagination of our decorators on a net, just an ordinary galvanized mesh. Which in turn, can be installed by your contractors on their own, according to our instructions and under the guidance of our engineers. This way, only decorating artists will come for installation, who, taking into account your wishes, will create exactly the type of unique picture that YOU saw in your dreams! We will take into account all of your wishes for the design of the ceiling itself because you are the co-authors of the Wave® ceiling.
And probably the most pressing question is the price. Each of your projects requires actualization of the price and its calculation in our company. To do this, you need to email [email protected] to send plans of the premises with dimensions and specify all the necessary height marks, color, site, and the city where the facility is located, which is necessary for us to estimate the cost of installation. But take into account that the price starts from 19800 rubles per m2 and depends on the height of the lamellas and the type of pattern.
To help you with your design, and to facilitate the process, we have created one of our most popular models – Wave® ceiling in 3Ds max 2016, Corona render visualizer, which can be downloaded from our website. Using our 3D visualizations, you can not only change the color of the ceiling, the height of the ceiling (lamella), but you can also use different lighting in the 3D models ( both ceiling and backlighting of each lamella), you can independently adjust the gradient of lighting and experiment per your desires.
You can get models for the shape of the room: circle, square and rectangle.
But, if you think of something completely new and original, you will have to design the models on your own.
And if you still have questions, you can always call or write to us. And very soon you will see the announcement of the webinar, where we will be dealing with practical issues of your projects specifically. At the webinar, you will have the opportunity to ask questions to our engineers, who will tell you how to make the engineering in the Wave® ceiling space accessible. You will also be able to ask our installation technicians, who will tell you how to extend the life of our decorative ceilings. And last, but certainly not least, to the founder and CEO of Paper Design® themselves.
